Have you ever heard of the phrase “Forests are the lungs of our planet”? Most of the life on Earth needs oxygen for respiration. Oxygen (O2) is produced by photoautotrophic organisms: plants, algae and some bacteria. It is produced as a byproduct of photosynthesis and released into the atmosphere. In the same process food tor the plants and the majority of life on Earth is produced. This wonderful process makes the life on Earth, as we know it, possible. We shall conduct a simple experiment which proves the release of oxygen and the process of photosynthesis.
